Hari Raya 2010 Poll
The BSUnion Council is currently discussing plans for this years Hari Raya Celebration. Planning is slightly complicated since Hari Raya takes place towards the end of the Summer Holidays and the begging of the new semester when people are just coming back to the UK. The council is thinking of holding two separate celebrations, one in Brunei and the UK. We are putting a poll out to measure interest in the events.
Please note that all these plans are still subject to MOE/UPP approval.
Hari Raya in Brunei
Potentially in a hotel, for 200-300 people. There will likely be a charge of something in the region of $5 per head to cover overheads. This will around second week of Hari Raya (tentatively 18th/19th Sept).
Hari Raya in London
Targeted at those who did not have a chance to celebrate in Brunei (especially the A-Level students). Location would be something more conducive for a smaller crowd of about 50 or 60 people, e.g. Delima or Melur Restaurant. HOWEVER, due to majority of the council not being in London during Hari Raya itself, celebration has to be postponed to AFTER the month of Syawal and during the half-term break.
