Salam everyone.
It’s that time of year again! The election for the next year’s Brunei Student Union committee. Any students currently studying in the UK and EIRE are eligible to run for the union.

Voting period: 26/04/2010 – 30/04/2010

If you have anyone in mind to nominate, or if you want to nominate yourself, please fill in the form provided below. You have to include your name, name and place of study of the person you want to nominate as well as a short description of him/her. Please make sure your nominee is aware and approves of the nomination.

You will need to fill in one form for each person that you are nominating to a particular position. Please note that this is just the nomination form, and not the voting form. A voting form will be made available during the voting period (i.e. 26/04/2010).

* Brief description of the Duties and Responsibilities of the committee members:
- President – be the head and spokesperson of the Union.
- Vice president - shall assist the President and also shall act on behalf of the President during the president’s absence.
- General Secretary - keep records and convene Union meetings
- Financial Secretary – Keep and maintain the financial accounts of the Council. Also, authenticate all financial transactions of the Union.
- Information Secretary – Set up and maintain the Union’s website as well as inform the union members of the major activities set up by the Union/Societies.
- Religious Secretary – Shall be responsible for the religious activities/affairs of the union, and also responsible for the religious publications and materials. Shall organize activities for religious/educational purposes.
- Sports Secretary – Shall organize games/tournaments and encourage the members to be in active in sports activities.
- Social and Welfare Secretary – Responsible for communicating with members regarding student welfare issues. Shall organize social functions, visits, trips and tours for educational purposes. (Each level of study (Postgraduate, Undergraduate and A’Level) will have their representative to look after their social and welfare and protect their interest).
Note: The deputy and assistants are to assist the main secretary and also to act on their behalf in their absence.
